One word of warning — the port area (especially the western terminals) can be a bit confusing to get around. There are lots of signs, but also lots of twists and turns. It’s helpful to have a passenger to focus on the signage to direct you where to go while driving. If you do plan to drop off or pick up, then just know that it’s a relatively simple concept. From there, you will see signs pointing you to the drop-off and pick-up areas, which are clearly marked.

If sailing with a passport, terminals have kiosks that allow you to quickly take a photo, and once confirmed via facial recognition, head on your way. If you have a birth certificate, then expect to wait in line to meet with a Border Patrol agent to review your documents. These days many cruise lines have online check-in, which speeds up the process. If checked-in online, you simply have your documents checked and finish up any last issues that need to be cleared before you board. You then walk your way to the ship and your room keys will be waiting for you at your cabin door.

Below, we cover the main options — parking at the port, independent lots, and hotels with cruise parking. CT8As you might expect given the relatively short distance to Disney World in Orlando, Disney Cruises has a large presence at the port. CT8 is the Disney terminal, where you’ll find its ships embarking to take families on cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean. CT1Located on the south bank of the port and to the east of most of the other terminals, CT1 is home to Royal Caribbean.
Best of all, they offer cheaper parking rates that can be around $10-12 per day (and in some cases even less expensive). CT10The last cruise terminal on the western side of the port is CT10, which serves Norwegian ships and MSC. From here it’s a nearly straight shot down the channel and out to sea.

If you love retail, you’ll be in heaven in Orlando, where there are numerous gleaming malls to explore, offering everything from bargain-packed outlet stores to high-end designer fashion. Try The Mall at Millenia for designer labels or The Florida Mall for more mainstream items. Bargain-hunters should head to Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, the location of dozens of designer outlet shops, as well as a handy location close to the theme parks. Bohemian, fun-loving Key West lies off the tip of South Florida and is known for its lively downtown scene and pristine coral reefs.
And as a major and modern cruise port, the disembarkation of the ship at Port Canaveral is usually smooth and relatively quick given the number of passengers on a modern cruise ship. Similar to the cruise port, these lots usually charge by the day instead of the night. So a three-night cruise will have you paying for four days of parking, even if you get your car back early in the morning. If you are driving into Port Canaveral, then there is the question of what to do with your car while you are on your cruise.
It’s also helpful if you have TSA PreCheck as the large number of families flying from Orlando can mean long security lines. On board you will find slot machines, dozens of table games, sports betting, a buffet and more. Considering that gambling is localized to only a few spots in Florida, the casino ship is a big draw for those looking to get their fix for a few hours. If using a shuttle service or if someone is picking you up, be sure to make plans on where you’ll be picked up before you get back to port.
(October 2023-April 2024) 6- and 8-day Eastern and Western Caribbean roundtrips from Mobile AL visit Half Moon Cay (Bahamas Carnival private island), Mahogany Bay (Roatan Island, Honduras), Bimini, Mexico, Jamaica. The Caribbean deployment is seasonal, alternating with Alaska (during summer). The 2022-built Carnival Celebration operates year-round roundtrips from Miami (preferential berthing at Carnival Terminal 3). In March, CCL signed an exclusive partnership with Lakeland Brewing Company (Florida) to can and keg CCL own private label beers crafted by a professional brewery team on the new liners Vista and Horizon (at sea). The 3 new craft beers (ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat, ParchedPig West Coast IPA, ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale) are based on unique recipes and currently available (on tap and in 16-oz cans) fleetwide and also at CCL's private port destinations. In October were added ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale and ParchedPig Beach Lager.

In June 2022 was inaugurated the ex-UK program based on homeporting in Dover (England) and 9-day and 12-day itineraries visiting British ports (Scotland, Wales, Ireland), Atlantic Europe (Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Netherlands), Baltic (Norwegian Fjords). The portable bocce courts are also available in some of the ship's indoor public spaces (including bars). The new onboard activity is offered fleetwide, including on the Australia-based ships, where are also available giant board games (like Trivial Pursuit, Guess Who, Cranium). On June 22nd, CCL and Costa Cruises announced the "COSTA by CARNIVAL" cruise program targeting CCL's North American source market. The program is based on two newbuild Costa ships - Venezia (starting in April 2023 with homeporting in NYC New York USA) and Firenze (starting in 2024 with homeporting in Long Beach/Los Angeles California USA).

The first vessel (Carnival Mardi Gras) is scheduled for delivery in 2021 and homeported in Port Canaveral Florida. The second liner/sistership Carnival Celebration is homeported in Miami starting in November 2022 (the year when CCL celebrated its 50th Anniversary/on March 11th). In May, CCL partnered with Harlem Globetrotters (exhibition basketball team) to serve as team's official cruise line sponsor, with Carnival-inspired activations taking place at 150+ shows per year. In July 2019, CCL signed a partnership with "Clean the World" - hospitality recycling organization that recycles hotel soap and amenities. CCL fleet's discarded remnants from staterooms are taken to a recycling center ashore where are sanitized, melted down and reprocessed. The newly-formed bars are not reused onboard, but distributed to vulnerable communities worldwide.
In 2017, CCL updated the cruise ship Wi-Fi service fleetwide, introducing the option to pre-purchase Internet packages online. Carnival Barbados deals (any itinerary visiting Bridgetown Barbados), all gratuities are prepaid and added upon booking. On Carnival ships departing from Australian ports tipping is not compulsory. SkyRide is an outdoor/aerial bicycle ride (suspended 2-track bike course) on the newest Vista-class Carnival ships. This is industry's first pedal-powered open-air bike ride in hanging bikes encircling around an 800-ft / 245-m long suspended track on the ship's top deck, allowing 360-degree panoramic views 150 ft / 46 m above sea level.

Departing Sept. 21, 2025, the ship will visit Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Nawiliwili, Kauai; and Hilo, Hawaii; as well as Ensenada, Mexico. Ahead of its move to San Francisco, Carnival Legend will offer a 14-day Carnival Journeys Panama Canal cruise that departs Tampa, FL on April 24, 2025. The ship will visit Cartagena, Colombia before transiting the Panama Canal. The itinerary will also feature visits to Puntarenas, Costa Rica and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, arriving in San Francisco on May 8, 2025. Carnival Legend’s first cruise from San Francisco on May 8, 2025 will bring guests on a four-day Baja Mexico cruise.
It will feature a stop in Ensenada, Mexico, before the ship’s Alaska series begins. Throughout the summer, Carnival Legend will offer an additional eight of these four-day weekend getaways. The new program "Carnival Journeys" features destinations like Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal, Europe.
Utilizing a total of 40 mini-satellites, Carnival now has the world's largest maritime satellite network. Specifically for Carnival, Speedcast developed the TrueBeam system, which constantly looks for weaknesses which would impact the satellite signal and instantly reroutes it to avoid interruptions. We really enjoy meeting fellow street rodders and make this event the most fun and best car show ever attended. We feel we have been very successful in our efforts as the public and community reception of our event has been terrific. Event sponsors provide substantial support though monetary and product donations, and the participants bring their outstanding and valuable vehicles to our show for all to see and enjoy.

Previously longtime Wellsville residents, Higley, her husband, Jeremy and their children now live in North Logan as they build a home in Preston.
